Entry Guide


The RoboMaster 2019 Technical Challenge is derived from the RoboMaster 2019 Robotics Competition, focusing on academic research in a certain field of robotics. It aims to encourage in-depth mining of technology, excellence, and robots to the extreme. The event will be held concurrently with the RoboMaster 2019 Robotics Competition.

Rules Overview

The single Technical Challenge tests the functionality of a particular robotic unit in the RoboMaster 2019 Robotics Competition. The single Technical Challenge is set according to the time consumed by the robot to complete the specified task, the accuracy and speed of the completion. The subject examined by each robot is a project. Teams can choose to participate in one or more of the challenges.


  • Registration:December 10, 2018 – January 18, 2019

  • Technical Assessment:Before April 2019

  • Chinese Regional Competitions:May 2019

  • Final Tournament:August 2019

Remarks: Teams from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and Overseas participate in the corresponding schedule directly in the Final Tournament. The specific venues for each regional will be released at a later date.

The RoboMaster Technical Challenge is open to international universities. As long as you love robots and hope to show your talent and wisdom on the RoboMaster Robotics Competition, you can apply for registration!

Starting a team

Students from colleges and universities, convene the relevant professional direction of the corresponding events to form a research and development team. The participating universities must be full-time undergraduate and postgraduate colleges. Participants must be students enrolled in universities before October 2019.

In principle, only one team in the same school is eligible to participate. Two or more schools that do not have separate teams can form an intercollegiate team.

Register for the competition

Complete the registration of the personal information and team information on the RoboMaster website from December 10, 2018 to January 18, 2019. You can choose to create a new team or join an existing one.

Get support

The materials required for the competition can be purchased through educational discounts;

Provide all-round support for team operations, business, publicity, project management, technology research and development.

Provide transportation and accommodation during the Final Tournament;

Technical assessment

The participating teams must pass the technical assessment by submitting videos, pictures, documents, etc. at the specified time, and show the progress of the preparation to the organizing committee.

The organizing committee will review whether the qualification of the team is qualified according to the completion degree of robot development embodied in each technical assessment node. At the same time, the team that passes the technical assessment nodes on time will receive further material support from the organizing committee.

Obtain qualification

Teams that pass the technical assessment of each challenge will be eligible to participate.

Q1: Where can I find updates during the robotics season?

A1: The RoboMaster Organizing Committee will post important information on the official RoboMaster Website and Forum. Teams will receive the update via e-mail.

Q2: Can a team that does not participate in the RoboMaster Robotics Competition sign up for the RoboMaster Technical Challenge?

A2: Yes. Individual challenges are accepted separately. At the same time, participating teams can choose to register for one or more challenges.

Q3: Can participants in the RoboMaster 2019 Technical Challenge participate in the RoboMaster 2019 Robotics Competition?

A3: Yes.

Q4: Can Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and Overseas Teams participate in the RoboMaster Technical Challenge?

A4: Yes. In the 2019 Season, teams from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and Overseas will participate in the Technical Challenge finals. Teams from Mainland China will need to qualify for the finals at their regional RoboMaster Technical Challenge (held at the regional RoboMaster Robotics Competitions).

Q5: How much should my team budget for materials and travel expenses?

A5: Materials: The funds are suitable for around USD $ 15,000-25,000, and the investment of each robot is between USD $ 1,500-3,000.

Travel: Budget will vary depending on the distance a team is from the competition venue.
